The walls, presided over by enormous cypresses, have commemorative plaques that bear witness to its history. In one corner, the stream from an old stone fountain provides the perfect musical backdrop to this historic setting. From the Mudejar-inspired arches of the tower we can enjoy a wonderful view of the city of Malaga, the bay and the heights of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. A stroll through the centuries-old gardens makes us more aware than ever of being in a landscape whose beauty has been forged over centuries. The shape of the trees, the erosion of the walls, the viewpoint with its stone staircase set on a natural crag, all remind us that hundreds of pages of the history of Malaga have been written within these walls.
