Is it the best time to buy a home in Spain?

Nearly 40% of Spaniards believe it's a good time to buy a home.

39% of participants in a recent online survey called 'Look and Find' are of the opinion that it is a good time to buy a home in Spain.

26% are waiting to see what happens this year before they take the plunge to buy property. After price declines in previous years the number of people wanting to buy is increasing little by little.

39% of people already think there are good opportunities in the market, 26% are playing the waitinq game and 35% believe the time is not right yet.

2014 is shaping up as the year of opportunity for potential buyers, after price declines they see the potential investment in buying property at a low price for a future return on that investment.

The latest data published by the INE points to a rebound in house purchases, especially in the second hand market.

The number of purchases made in 2013 on existing homes increased by 2.2%, while the number of acquisitions of new apartments fell by 6.8%.

Evolution of the prices in Spain

House prices have fallen around 35% since 2006, when prices were at their highest.

Falls in the last quarter have not been very significant and customers perceive more clearly that it is a good time to make a property investment.

The results show that if money was readily available home ownership would be the primary investment choice.
